Generative AI in Advertising

Graduate Research Project

In my graduate course Communication, Technology, and Society, my teammate and I completed a semester-long project exploring the growing role of generative AI in the advertising industry. We chose this topic due to its increasing relevance and the ethical challenges it presents for future professionals in our field. Our research focused on how advertisers can harness the power of generative AI without losing creative integrity or transparency. We ultimately centered our project around one guiding question:
How can advertisers use generative AI in a way that respects both the sources it draws from and the audiences it reaches, while still protecting their own creative and strategic interests?

Project Sheet & Brochure

O&M Consulting Engineering

I designed a standardized, branded project sheet template in Adobe and reformatted all past and current projects to support future marketing and proposal efforts. Additionally, I created a brochure for the CIAPR Expo 2025, ensuring the visuals and messaging were fully aligned with the organization’s brand identity.

Oral History Interview

An Oral History With Timothy Larson and Bret Larson

Owners of Opus Coffee

For the Gainesville Business History Project, part of the Inquire Capitalism program at the University of Florida, I curated interview questions and conducted an oral history with the owners of Opus Coffee. This project captured the story of a Gainesville staple, highlighting its entrepreneurial journey and community impact. By preserving their narrative, I created a lasting record that documents Opus Coffee’s role in shaping Gainesville’s business and cultural landscape for future generations.

Campaigns

Bold Choice, Smooth Rewards

Califia Farms Campaign

For our Califia Farms project, my team and I targeted graduate-level college students, many of whom are in Generation Z. Our research, which included interviews with students, revealed that they lead busy lives balancing school, work, and social activities, and view coffee as both a boost and a treat. Based on these insights, we developed the Bold Choices, Smooth Rewards campaign, positioning Califia Farms as the perfect treat for students who don’t compromise their social life for academics. Califia Farms offers a plant-based alternative that fuels ambitions and fits seamlessly into the lifestyle of any student.

Crafting your College Memories

Pinspiration Gainesville: Real-World Client

For this hands-on client project, my team and I developed a campaign for Pinspiration Gainesville, a DIY craft studio focused on creative experiences. We targeted local college students by positioning the brand as a go-to destination for fun, memorable group activities. Our strategy included social media content, on-campus outreach, and event-based ideas to boost awareness and engagement among student organizations and sororities.

Social Media

Content Curation

Strike Magazine: the nation’s largest student-run fashion and culture magazine.

As part of the social media team for Strike Magazine, I curated fashion content for our Instagram, which has around 10k followers. My approach blends current trends with timeless style, aiming to inspire readers to express their individuality through their wardrobe choices. When given a curation assignment, I not only focus on what’s trending but also look to the past for insights into future trends. My goal was to showcase looks that reflect where we are now and where fashion is headed.
